BLAST Apprenticeship Readiness Programs (ARP) prepare individuals 16 & Older with the fundamental knowledge  competencies based skills that will enable them to successfully succeed in a Skilled Trades Competencies Based Apprenticeship Programs for employment in the industry of competencies.  Apprenticeship programs provide paid on-the-job learning from an experienced Journeyman and related classroom instruction on the technical and academic aspects of the career. The training is rooted in industry skill standards and competencies.

Blast Detroit competencies based related field basic training work with companies  to successfully develop and retain a highly-skilled workforce for the jobs they need filled. Apprenticeship is the term used for apprenticeship programs that have a formal structure, in which employers have established learning standards that meet national and state quality expectations. When individuals successfully complete  Apprenticeship programs, they receive a national credential that is recognized anywhere in the industry.

BLAST Detroit competencies based basic skills trades training program is designed to train,  recruit, screen, select and prepare individuals for successful entry into employment and skilled trades apprenticeship programs. BLAST is an innovative, industry-driven approach to literacy and skills development. A curriculum developed by Home Builders Association delivered by Blast Detroit Literacy Center a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization in conjunction with the critical issues facing the Skilled Trades Workforce. While simultaneously informing and empowering individuals in their decision-making process, participants while gaining the necessary hands-on skills and real-world experiences.

A BLAST navigator will  work with participants to apply for Apprenticeship openings with the participating skilled trades unions, manufacturing, technology and STEM related industries. Participants placed in Apprenticeship Programs earn as they learn debt free. Blast Detroit also  help to improve the economic opportunity  for individuals with disabilities. We stick with participants until they are able to navigate the Skilled Trades Industry independently until the participant obtain the job he or she desires. Blast Detroit program is fully invested in participants’ outcomes.
