BLAST (Building Literacy, Apprentices, Skills Trade). BLAST Detroit 16+ (16 years and older) Skills Trades Careers Exploration Competencies Based Pathway is a combination or workshops, orientations, classroom and hands on related instruction in which participants learn the practical and theoretical aspects of a highly skilled occupations. The BLAST program mission is to meet the needs of the skilled labor workforce. BLAST DETROIT is a unique, flexible training platform that combine classroom and hands-on instruction leading to structured employment.
BLAST Detroit, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship Readiness (ARP) is designed to help reduce the skills trade gap for the thousands of construction, manufacturing and STEM related technology jobs. BLAST Detroit also prepare individual with disabilities, at risk teenagers and adults to enter and succeed in the skills trades industry. Together, skills trade and high school or GED completion expand the career pathway and opportunities for adult populations, people with disabilities and at risk teenagers. Quality pre-apprenticeship programs contribute to the development of a diverse and skilled population to meet the basic qualifications for entry into the 21st Century work force. BLAST provide strong recruitment efforts for under-represented populations. Education and career counselling services that prepare participants to meet the minimum qualifications for entry into a Registered Apprenticeship program.

Financial Literacy Workshops-Improving financial literacy skills within and outside of the home
3rd Grade to 8th Grade Literacy Intervention– providing Instructions in technology projects, robotics electric vehicles learning interventions to improve reading, writing and math skills.
